supplies needed to make a heart wreath diy

  • Dollar Tree wire heart wreath form
  • Dollar Tree mop head
  • Dollar Tree felt heart wreath
  • Ribbon
  • Dollar Tree wooden decorative heart stickers (optional)
  • Dollar Tree Buffalo Check handkerchief set (optional)
  • Decorative beads (optional)
  • Hot glue and Glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Pliers or Wire Snippers

how to make a heart wreath

Remove the black plastic piece from the center of the mop head using pliers or wire snippers.

Begin wrapping mop head around the wire heart frame by tying knots to each strand to attach to one another.

Optionally, using hot glue, adhere tiny decorative beads or glitter balls to the top of the mop head.

Carefully remove three hearts from the felt heart wreath. Then remove the top heart from one.

Using the felt heart as a pattern, trace a heart shape out of the buffalo check handkerchief or fabric of your choice.

Glue the fabric to the felt heart and replace the top heart to the top of the new fabric.

Glue the three felt hearts together along the edges.

Glue the heart trio along the two outer most edges to the outer edges of the wire wreath frame to create a “pocket” for your greenery.

Add greenery to the pocket of hearts. Glue down if needed. Add decorative hearts if desired.

Hang with ribbon of your choice.

This little wreath turned out to be one of my favorite DIY’s! I hope you’ll make a one for your front door, too! Super affordable with all Dollar Tree supplies makes this one a win-win. The secret pocket in the front makes it fun to change out the greenery or maybe add some florals, really the possibilites are endless!

Equipment

  • glue gun
  • scissors
  • wire snippers or pliers

Materials

  • 1 Dollar Tree wire heart wreath form
  • 1 Dollar Tree mop head
  • 1 Dollar Tree felt heart wreath
  • Ribbon of your choice
  • 1 Dollar Tree Buffalo Check handkerchief set (optional)
  • Decorative beads (optional)
  • Dollar Tree Wooden Decorative Heart Stickers (optional)
