  • Place your celery, onions, and carrots in the bottom of a slow cooker.

  • Slow cook on low for 6-8 hours until your roast is cooked through and tender.

  • Using two forks or a Mix N Chop, shred the roast.

Variations

  • Try a different cut of meat; use bison, lamb, or whatever else your butcher recommends.
  • Use a variety of dried spices, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or whatever you have on hand. Try all Cajun spices for a spicier roast or use Italian spices for a milder flavor.
  • Change up the veggies and add parsnips, zucchini or potatoes. Fresh or frozen vegetables will both work.
  • Instead of beef broth use chicken or vegetables.
  • Pour in some red wine.

You don’t have to brown or sear the roast though it does make for a caramelized crust on the outside. If you have the time, give it a try.
