What is Reindeer Food?

Reindeer food is one of the most age-old Christmas traditions around, and there are several different ways to make it. Traditionally, reindeer food consists of oatmeal mixed with edible glitter or colored sugar. Children sprinkle the mixture outside their windows or on the front lawn on Christmas Eve so that Santa’s reindeer can find the way to their homes.

It’s also popular among families who prefer a non-traditional approach to the holiday but still want to keep some of its magical spirit alive in their homes. Nowadays, people use all sorts of ingredients in their reindeer food recipes, such as popcorn kernels, chia seeds, and even M&M’s.

Making your own reindeer food doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming; these free printables make it easy and fun! Gather up your family and let the festive crafting begin this holiday season! Let me know which ingredients you used in your special blend by commenting below!
