1. Create a Reusable Chalkboard Christmas Tray

One of my favorite projects is turning a Dollar Tree silver serving tray into a reusable Christmas sign.

Using chalkboard peel and stick wallpaper, simply cut a piece to fit inside the tray and apply it smoothly. Then add your favorite Christmas stencil using removable chalk paste.

The best part?

Because the chalk paste wipes away easily, you can create a completely different design for every holiday or season. One tray becomes endless décor possibilities.

Display it on your kitchen counter with lanterns, vintage ornaments, or greenery for an elegant Christmas vignette.

2. Make Dry Erase Leftover Labels

Holiday leftovers are practically guaranteed after every family gathering.

Instead of wondering what's inside every container, create reusable dry erase labels using scraps of dry erase peel and stick wallpaper.

Cut small rectangles with decorative scissors and attach them to plastic containers, glass dishes, or disposable aluminum pans.

Simply write the contents and date with a dry erase marker, then erase and reuse them again and again.

These also work wonderfully for:

  • Cookie tins
  • Meal prep containers
  • Freezer meals
  • Homemade baked gifts
  • Holiday treat boxes

It's a simple project that makes holiday organization so much easier.

3. Peppermint Christmas Decorative Tray

Dollar Tree silver trays are one of my favorite crafting supplies.

For this version, I lined the center with peppermint-striped peel and stick wallpaper and painted the tray edges a rich metallic gold to coordinate with the wallpaper.

A few simple “Ho Ho Ho” stencil tags finished with ribbon bows complete the design.

Display it on a small easel alongside vintage Christmas books, candles, or festive greenery for an easy centerpiece that looks store-bought.

4. Give a Dollar Tree Candle a Peppermint Makeover

A plain Dollar Tree candle becomes an elegant Christmas decoration with one simple update.

After removing the original label, wrap the candle with peppermint-striped peel and stick wallpaper, smoothing carefully as you go.

To finish the look, attach a vintage brooch or decorative jewelry piece to the front or top of the candle.

The combination of classic peppermint stripes and vintage sparkle creates a beautiful Christmas display that also makes a thoughtful handmade gift.

For an extra festive touch, add a few drops of peppermint essential oil to the top before lighting the candle.

5. DIY Chalkboard Nativity House

This project combines one of my favorite Dollar Tree finds with a beautiful Christmas message.

Using one of Dollar Tree's unfinished wooden houses, line the inside with chalkboard peel and stick wallpaper.

Stencil a simple nativity scene onto the chalkboard using white chalk paste, then insert it into the wooden house.

A sprinkle of glitter or a few tiny stars finishes the piece beautifully.

The result is simple, elegant, and a meaningful reminder of the true reason we celebrate Christmas.

6. Sparkling Christmas Pillar Candle

If you love a little sparkle during the holidays, this project is for you.

Wrap a white Dollar Tree pillar candle with festive Christmas peel and stick wallpaper.

Then brush a thin layer of Mod Podge around the bottom edge and sprinkle generously with diamond dust for an icy, sparkling finish.

Don't have diamond dust?

You could easily substitute:

  • Fine glitter
  • Faux snow
  • Epsom salt
  • Iridescent glitter

Nestled inside a dough bowl with ornaments or greenery, this candle creates a beautiful holiday centerpiece.

7. Give Everyday Items a Christmas Makeover

Sometimes it's the unexpected projects that make me smile the most.

For this fun idea, I wrapped a plain fabric refresher bottle with Christmas peel and stick wallpaper, then decorated the lid with colorful paint pen dots and swirls.

Is it necessary?

Absolutely not.

Does it make me smile every time I use it?

Absolutely!

Sometimes decorating the everyday items around your home makes holiday decorating feel even more magical.

Why I Love Crafting with Peel and Stick Wallpaper

Peel and stick wallpaper has quickly become one of my favorite crafting supplies.

It works beautifully on:

  • Dollar Tree trays
  • Candles
  • Wooden signs
  • Storage containers
  • Home décor
  • Gift packaging
  • Seasonal decorations

Because it's removable, forgiving, and available in so many beautiful patterns, it's perfect for beginner and experienced crafters alike.

The holidays don't have to be expensive to feel beautiful.

With a little creativity, a few Dollar Tree supplies, and some festive peel and stick wallpaper, you can create décor that looks custom-made without spending a fortune.

Whether you're making a reusable chalkboard sign, dressing up candles, organizing holiday leftovers, or creating meaningful nativity décor, these projects prove that beautiful Christmas decorating can absolutely be budget-friendly.
