Grinch Cookies

These festive Grinch Cookies are a delightful twist on a classic treat. Made with a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth base, these cookies are colored a vibrant green and rolled in powdered sugar for a snowy finish.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar plus extra for rolling
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon green food coloring
  • ¼ cup confetti heart sprinkles
  • ¼ cup optional chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup optional walnuts

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract and green food coloring until evenly combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Stir in optional chocolate chips and walnuts if desired.
  • Using your hands, shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers will remain soft.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool for a few minutes before rolling them in powdered sugar. Next add a single red confetti heart to each one before allowing them to cool completely on a wire rack.
