Best Mom Ever Mother's Day Card (Free Printable!)

There’s just something about a handmade card that makes it feel extra special—especially when it’s made with love for Mom. This Best Mom Ever Mother’s Day card is a quick and easy DIY project that turns simple supplies into a heartfelt gift she’ll want to hang onto forever.

Materials

  • Free printable PDF card design download from my site!
  • White or kraft cardstock
  • Graphite paper
  • Embossing tool or dull pencil
  • Washi tape optional
  • Posca paint pens or any paint/brush pens you like
  • Scissors or a paper trimmer

Instructions

Step 1: Print the Card Design

  • Start by printing out the “Best Mom Ever” design onto regular printer paper. You’ll want to make sure the size fits your chosen card or cardstock. You can also trim it down a bit to center it nicely on your final card.

Step 2: Prepare the Transfer

  • Cut your cardstock to the size you want for your finished card—either a flat card or a folded one.
  • Next, tape the printable design to the front of your card using washi tape (just a small piece to hold it in place). Then slip a piece of graphite paper (shiny side down) between the design and the card.

Step 3: Trace the Design

  • Using an embossing tool or dull pencil, carefully trace over the lettering. This will transfer a light outline of the design onto your card. You don’t need to press super hard—just enough to get a visible line.

Step 4: Fill It In

  • Now the fun part! Grab your Posca paint pens or your favorite markers and go over the outline, filling in the letters with a nice bold color. You can keep it classic with black, go soft and pretty with pastels, or make it pop with gold or pink.
  • Feel free to add extra little touches—hearts, florals, a border, or even Mom’s name or the date.

Step 5: Finish and Personalize

  • Once the paint or ink is dry, write a personal message on the back (or inside if it’s a folded card). You can include a favorite memory, a thank-you note, or something simple like “Love you forever.”
  • Pop it into an envelope or pair it with a small gift—like a candle, some flowers, or one of your handmade crafts—and you’ve got a sweet, meaningful
