Watermelon Door Hanger DIY

Make a pretty and simple watermelon door hanger to decorate your front door all summer long.

Equipment

  • scissors

Materials

  • Unfinished Watermelon 
  • Acrylic Paint - red, white, green
  • Paint Brushes
  • White and Black Paint Pen
  • Assorted Fabric

Instructions

  • Paint a thin line of green around the edge of the watermelon.
  • Paint a light pink paint border above the green rind.
  • Then a darker pink paint above that layer.    
  • Add a top layer of red to finish off the watermelon color.
  • Let this dry, or use your handy heat gun to speed up the process.
  • Once dry, use a black paint pen to color the watermelon seeds.
  • Finish the seeds by outlining them with a white paint pen.
  • Use the white paint pen to add more dimension to the base of the watermelon.   
  • Cut or tear strips of fabric to make a messy bow.
