Begin by thoroughly cleaning your ladder with a damp cloth to remove any debris or dust. Allow it to dry completely in a well-ventilated area prepared with a drop cloth or newspapers to catch any overspray.

I found this ladder in a dumpster outside of one of my favorite thrift stores. It was originally meant to be a bunk bed ladder for hanging on the side of a bunk bed. We removed the metal hangers before cleaning it and then it was ready to paint!

We spray painted outside, but it was a super windy day. I recommend choosing a day that is less windy! LOL

Shake the can of Rust-Oleum Chalked paint well. Spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, ensuring even coverage. The beauty of this paint is its ability to cover in one coat, but for deeper color or to ensure no spots are missed, a second coat can be applied once the first is dry.
